How to install and configure an eSIM on Android

Open the Android installation URL, scan the QR code or enter the LPA activation details, then assign the eSIM to mobile data.

Before you install

Android menu names vary by manufacturer, but the requirements are the same. Complete these checks first.

  • Connect to stable Wi-Fi or mobile data and turn Airplane Mode off while downloading the profile.
  • Confirm that the model and regional variant support eSIM. Dial *#06# and look for an EID if you are unsure.
  • Confirm the phone is network-unlocked. If multiple networks appear under manual network selection, it is usually unlocked; ask the current mobile company when in doubt.
  • Update Android and keep the RecargaDoble delivery message with the install URL, QR code and activation details available.
  • Check when plan validity begins so you know whether to install before traveling or when you reach the covered destination.

Three ways to add the eSIM

Use the method supported by your device. Samsung, Pixel and other Android brands use different menu labels for the same system process.

Install with the Android URL

On supported Android devices, the secure link opens the system eSIM provisioning screen with the activation data already attached.

  1. 1Open the RecargaDoble delivery message on the Android phone where the eSIM will be used.
  2. 2Tap Install eSIM for Android and choose the external browser if an in-app browser does not open the system installer.
  3. 3Confirm Download, Add eSIM or Add plan when the Android setup screen appears.
  4. 4Keep the internet connection active and wait for the profile to finish downloading before closing Settings.

Direct installation depends on the device and Android eSIM manager. If the link is not recognized, use the QR or manual method.

Install with the QR code

Scan the private RecargaDoble QR code from another screen or, on supported devices, select its image from the gallery.

  1. 1Samsung: Settings → Connections → SIM Manager → Add eSIM. Pixel and similar devices: Settings → Network & Internet → SIMs → Add SIM → Set up an eSIM.
  2. 2Choose Scan QR Code and point the camera at the complete RecargaDoble QR code.
  3. 3Confirm Add, Download or Connect and allow several minutes for the profile to install.
  4. 4When the new eSIM appears in SIM Manager or SIMs, continue with the data configuration below.

The QR can be a single-use installation credential. Keep it private and do not scan it on a second phone.

Enter the activation code manually

Use the complete LPA string or the separate SM-DP+ and activation code fields shown in your delivery details.

  1. 1Open Add eSIM, then choose Enter Activation Code, Enter Manually, Need Help or the equivalent option on your device.
  2. 2If the phone requests one field, paste the complete value in the form LPA:1$<SM-DP+>$<activation-code>.
  3. 3If it shows separate fields, enter the SM-DP+ Address and Activation Code exactly as delivered.
  4. 4Confirm Connect or Download and wait until the profile appears in the device SIM list.

How the Android one-tap URL works

The URL carries the private LPA installation string and asks Android's native eSIM manager to start the profile download. A valid link has this structure; these placeholders are not real credentials:

Open only the complete URL delivered by RecargaDoble on the destination phone. Do not edit, shorten, publish or manually rebuild the link.

Configure the eSIM for mobile data

After installation, Android may leave the new profile off or continue using the physical SIM for data.

  1. Step 1

    Open Settings → Connections or Network & Internet → SIM Manager or SIMs and turn the new eSIM on.

  2. Step 2

    Under Mobile Data or Preferred SIM for data, select the RecargaDoble eSIM and confirm the switch.

  3. Step 3

    Keep your primary SIM selected for calls and SMS when you want to retain your regular number.

  4. Step 4

    Open Mobile Networks for the eSIM and enable Data Roaming when you are ready to use the plan in its covered destination.

  5. Step 5

    Disable automatic data switching or backup calling if you do not want mobile data to fall back to the primary SIM.

  6. Step 6

    If the delivery details provide an APN, add it under Access Point Names and select it. Otherwise keep the automatic APN.

Android troubleshooting

Because Android menus vary, first confirm the eSIM is downloaded, enabled and selected for data.

The Android install URL opens a website instead of Settings

Open the link in the phone's external browser and allow it to launch the system eSIM manager. If the device does not recognize the Android installation URL, use Add eSIM with the QR code or enter the LPA activation code manually.

I cannot find Add eSIM

Search Settings for eSIM, SIM Manager, SIMs or Download a SIM. Confirm the exact model and regional variant supports eSIM and look for an EID after dialing *#06#. Some devices hide the option when restricted to a network.

The QR code or LPA code is rejected

Check every character, keep the LPA:1$ separators intact and confirm the profile is not already listed. Credentials may be single-use. Contact RecargaDoble support before deleting or retrying an installed profile.

The eSIM is active but there is no mobile data

Select it as the preferred SIM for data, enable Data Roaming, toggle Airplane Mode or restart, and verify coverage. Enter an APN only when your RecargaDoble delivery details include one.

My phone keeps using the physical SIM

Return to SIM Manager or SIMs and set Mobile Data to the eSIM. Turn off automatic data switching if you do not want Android to fall back to the primary line.

I deleted the eSIM profile

The same QR, link or activation code may not download it again. Contact RecargaDoble support with the order details and a screenshot of the message so the profile status can be checked.
